Chris Pietrzak-Wegner, CSCS, MTA is a highly regarded strength and conditioning coach and trainer. He has spent the past nine seasons as a strength and conditioning coach in professional ice hockey with the Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota Wild. Chris has also served as a consultant to the Oji Eagles in the Asia Super League and H.C. Lugano in the Swiss Elite League. In addition to Ice Hockey, Chris has trained athletes from Major League Baseball, Golden Gloves Boxing, competitive figure skating, soccer, tennis and everyday life.Throughout Chris’ career as a strength coach he has worked with non-athletic individuals from the general public in developing personal strength, implementing corrective exercise strategies for better pain-free movement patterns, and aiding individuals in finding their path to a more fit lifestyle. Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland and has is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA.
Chris’ passion for food, cooking and wellness started at a young age where family dinners were the norm and a home-garden nourished him through summer months. His curiosity for flavors brought him into the kitchen to create his own dishes. His passion for food called him into the restaurant business for a few years giving him the opportunity to cook at well-established chef-driven restaurants around the Twin Cities, including Cafe Barbette and Sapor. Wellness and using food to heal stepped to the forefront in 1999 when Chris’ wife was diagnosed with cancer. Together they embraced food and nutrition as a means to create health and wholeness in her body; she is cancer-free today. Chris minored in Nutrition at the University of Maryland and continued his nutritional education by becoming a Metabolic Typing Advisor, where he is able to assess individuals personal nutritional needs based on their genetic make-up. Also, as a Level I Holistic Lifestyle Coach through the CHEK Institute, Chris is able to guide clients in making healthy lifestyle decisions through food choice, preparation, and environmental considerations. Chris cooks, plans, and creates in an allergy-free household supporting his wife’s celiac disease and dairy allergy. He is well versed in working with individuals who are need of making major food and lifestyle changes to create better balance and health in their lives.
